After recently reading Steven Bartlett’s latest book The diary of a CEO the 33 laws of business & life, law 22: you must become a plan-a thinker explores the idea of having a goal with no backup plan, calling this plan A or as some may call this manifestation? So what is manifestation or plan A and does it work?
The idea of plan A means we are more likely to succeed in our actions, but is this the same as manifesting?

Manifesting. What is it and why do we do it? Many believe that the law of attraction is a way to replace negative energy with positive and by doing this it will help us achieve our goals. With the help of journaling and visualisation methods, manifestation is beloved to create a more positive mindset helping us stay motivated and focused on our goals. Whether you are looking to buy that dream home or get that promotion manifesting may be an unconscious thought to us sometimes.
Although manifestation may not have a logical explanation, techniques such as visualisation and daily affirmations have helped me get to where I want to be and I will continue to practice these methods. However I don’t think this is solely the reason for it ‘working’. Plan A plays a big role in how successful manifestation is, without that plan in place to achieve your goals it will get you nowhere. So when thinking about the ideas explored in the book it would make sense that having no back up plan helps you focus more on that one goal. Without that security we are more likely to succeed, our creativity and ability to visualise as humans is amazing and when put to use can be our biggest strength. The power of how the mind works, constantly being creative completely changes the outcome of our lives. One tiny thought can be something so much bigger when we set a plan in place and go for it.

Recently I have put manifestation to the test with the help of a little journal everyone seems to love! The 5 minute journal by intelligent chance. This book teaches us gratitude and reinforces positive energy through daily affirmations. By filling this out this journal daily twice a day, morning and night, the same five prompts are provided each day. You ask yourself what are you grateful for? What would make today great? And write a daily affirmation for the day. These questions many of us would never ask ourselves and even just thinking about these can create positive energy and visualisations of how our day can go. This manifestation technique sets you up each day and for me creates a more positive mindset for each and every day I have been using the journal.
Every night with these ideas left with you from earlier in the day we are guided through the journal to ask ourselves what were the highlights of your day? And what did you learn from today? Filling this section of the journal out leaves me knowing what I have learned each day and has altered my mindset.

So plan A is this manifestation? When we know what we want you go for it right? The diary of a CEO suggests many of us have plan B and C to back us up and that leads us to more than likely fail as there is that security already in place. By having one or multiple goals with no intentional backup idea this is when manifestation seems use its magic. If we want something bad enough and think of ourselves and lives with it is how we can get there, we try that extra bit harder to reach it with the power of our mentality.
After listening to Valeria Lipovetsky’s Not Alone podcast with Sai De Silva I learned about the 369 method of manifestation this involves writing down your what you are manifesting three times in the morning, six times during the day and nine times at night to reinforce your intentions and make them a reality. Again there is no evidence this is a sure thing but with this in mind and the repetition of your goals you are likely to make you want to achieve these things. With this constant reminder we may consciously or even unconsciously come up with our plan A on how we will make these ideas an actuality.

So do I think manifestation works? Yes.. alongside having a plan. With the power of the laws of attraction and creating a more positive attitude is just one of those reasons we are more likely to succeed. Who wouldn’t want that?
My favourite manifestation methods:
Vision boards – Who doesn’t love a good mood board right? This helps us to see our goals in visuals and have that constant (and aesthetically pleasing) reminder to motivate us.

Journaling – Creating art both in words and pictures is the perfect outlet to you explore new ideas big or small whether they are personal to you or you want to share these ideas, writing them down can be effective.

Daily affirmations – Just one positive sentence can change your entire day if you let it, daily affirmations are a perfect reminder to yourself as you go about your day.
My favourite thing someone once told me is and will always be something I remember is:
“Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine.“
